What’s the meaning of “Cell911”?
I’ve been joking for years that the National Security Agency probably reads my e-mail. I came up with the moniker sometime before 9/11/01 and it stuck. My first initial of “C” is obvious as is my birthday of 911. Blame my friend Suzie for the “ell” since she would sometimes refer to me in e-mail as “Mr. Ell.” So it’s as simple as being a mnemonic for my initials and my birthday smashed together — C - L - 911.
I never actually made the connection between my birthday and the universal emergency phone number until 7/11/01 when I was celebrating a friend’s birthday. She said her birthday was “7-11 just like the store” and the lightbulb went off then that mine was just like the emergency number.
