A pair of Gulf Fritillary butterflies sample the nectar of one of my Giant Mexican Sunflowers (tithonia diversifolia). The flowers are Fall bloomers and come on after the regular Mexican Sunflowers pretty much go into demise for the Fall and Winter. The view from the office window on a Fall workday morning. I’ve been enjoying the light play of the sunrise on the bottom of the satellite dish for the past couple of weeks or so.
Friday evening after a rainy week brought this unusual sky. I wish my favorite photo subject had been around to take advantage of the dreamy, golden light.
This was taken somewhere north of Providence, Fla., probably on CR 241 south of CR 240.
My old Canon Powershot G1, that I’ve had almost six years now, has always taken amazing pictures of blue skies. It’s now relegated to hazardous duty such as cycling or kayaking, but may get replaced for that because its response time is so slow and its screen seems to be getting weak.
